Montfort Castle
Le Vernet-Chaméane
This 12th-century fortified castle, remodeled in the 17th century, overlooks the village and the Vernet lake. Owned by the local community, it houses the Maison de l’Améthyste on the first floor, and temporary exhibitions upstairs during the summer season.

From 01/01 to 31/12/2026 daily.
From April to October, the Maison de l’Améthyste is open Monday to Friday. Closed weekends all year round.
Privatized on weekends. The privatized area includes the site and park of the château only when the Annexes are rented. Rental of rooms, dormitory, gite.
Summer exhibitions according to schedule.
