In the south of the town, between the La Fontaine-du-Bac and Les Landais districts, its volcanic origins make it a special place where pozzolana, volcanic bombs and the last lava flows emerge from the vegetation. Its four hectares of rolling meadow invite you to stroll among hazelnut trees, conifers and rose bushes. Discover the orientation trail and the two monumental sculptures by Japanese artist Sato Saturo.
The City of Clermont-Ferrand owns 8 beehives, including 4 in the Creux de l’Enfer park.
Since 2010, the City and Unaf (Union nationale de l’apiculture française) have been linked by an agreement for the installation, monitoring and operation of the beehives. Through this partnership, the City is committed to the “Bee, sentinel of the environment” operation to raise awareness among Clermont-Ferrand residents of the essential role bees play in maintaining biodiversity. In 2016, the City was awarded theAPIcité® label, thanks to its local policy to protect pollinators.
The park has also been awarded the Refuge LPO label.
