Parc du Dolmen
Saint-Nectaire
It was in 1890 that the Parc du Dolmen was laid out and planted by M. Giraudon, an audacious entrepreneur who in less than 10 years developed the whole resort of St Nectaire-le-Bas.
The walk is pleasant and shady, and the highlight of the show is the best-known of Auvergne’s megaliths, the ‘Dolmen du Parc’ or ‘Palet de Samson’, which was the first in the Puy de Dôme to be listed as a historic monument in 1875.
