Come and discover the fortress of Jonas, carved out of a lava flow by man. You’ll discover the chapel with its 11th-century frescoes, the bakery with its bread oven and, of course, the castle carved into the cliff.

Come and discover the troglodyte fortress of Jonas, carved entirely by human hands into a volcanic cliff. The guardian and sentinel of the Couze Pavin, it houses a magnificent 9th-century chapel with frescoes of rare beauty. You’ll also see the bakery and the seigniorial residence: the château with its spiral staircase carved out of the volcanic rock.

Your pet will receive a warm welcome:

– no extra charge 1st category dogs are forbidden and 2nd category dogs must be muzzled as required by law.
