Vestiges of Varennes

Since 2010, volunteers from the “Varennes en mouvement” association have been helping to safeguard the site, and are committed to making its heritage accessible to all, and to promoting it as a place for discovery and encounters.

Since 2010, volunteers from the “Varennes en mouvement” association have been helping to safeguard the site, and are committed to making its heritage accessible to all, and to promoting it as a place for discovery and encounters.

They also encourage intergenerational and intercultural heritage projects, such as the Petit journal du patrimoine school competition, winner of the 2017 national prize, and the Printemps des cimetières (with Patrimoine Aurhalpin).

The association is working to promote heritage as a resource for the future, encouraging a rehabilitation project on the Vestiges de Varennes site (around the well whose facing has been pillaged and the round tower where a fault is developing) and working with students from the University of Clermont-Auvergne on study programs concerning History and Geology.
