Vergheas
The Church of Notre-Dame houses a remarkable wooden statue of the Virgin Mary and some magnificent stained-glass windows. Salt smugglers once operated in Vergheas. The bend in the Pampeluze stream reveals the idyllic landscapes of a peaceful, unspoilt valley.
Set off to explore the village of Vergheas and the Pampeluze Valley on a lovely 1 hour 15 minute walk. Or why not explore the village of Roche D’Agoux, with its quartz vein and a splendid view of the Combrailles.
