Gorges of Chavanon

Savennes

At Savannes the river Chavanon flows through the middle of blocks of rock, bordered on both sides by imposing forests, not accessible by vehicle for over 5km of river. A biodiversity for wildlife and plants. (particulary otters).

Situated on the border of the Puy-de-Dôme, Creuse and Corrèze, the Chavanon valley (50 km) before its confluence with the Dordogne flows into gorges, constituting one of the wildest areas of Auvergne.
