It is a dam lake designed for swimming and water sports. The lake Chambon has been awarded the Blue Flag label.
Lac Chambon is unique in that it belongs administratively to the communes of Murol and Chambon-sur-Lac.

Supervised swimming from July 1 to August 30 inclusive, from 11am to 6pm daily, except Sundays and public holidays, from 11am to 7pm.
