Route description
From Saint-Vincent you can walk along the rather arid hills characteristic of the south of the Puy-de-Dôme. We climb to the top of the puy of Lavelle with a beautiful view of Issoire, the Lembron and the Sancy massif. A hike appreciated for its panoramic views.
Starting point – Follow the street towards the D26, then take the first street on the right. Walk along the cemetery, then the stadium. Turn left to take a street parallel to the D26 for 100 m. To cross it. Follow the D629 in front for 100 m then turn(…)

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
Step 1 : Suivre la rue en direction de la D26, puis prendre la première rue à droite. Longer le cimetière, puis le stade. Tourner à gauche pour prendre sur 100 m une rue parallèle à la D76. La traverser. Suivre en face la D629 sur 100 m puis à droite un chemin goudronné. Continuer la montée jusqu’à la première intersection puis aller à gauche. Ignorer deux chemins partant sur la gauche. Poursuivre jusqu’à la D629. L’emprunter à droite jusqu’à Lavelle.
Step 2 : Prendre à gauche rue de La Ribe. Passer devant l’église pour emprunter à gauche la rue de La Chapelle. Continuer rue du Suquet. À la sortie du village, à droite, orgues basaltiques. Aux deux intersections suivantes emprunter le chemin de droite. Après deux bancs en bois, monter à droite pour suivre une trace grimpant dans la lande entre des genévriers. Suivre la trace qui monte à droite (vue sur Clémensat, l’église de St Floret et la chaîne des monts Dore) contourner le sommet rocheux, en bordure d’une falaise (vue sur Lavelle et St Vincent). Poursuivre la montée jusqu’à un large chemin. Tourner à droite et descendre jusqu’à un croisement.
Step 3 : Partir à gauche. À la fourche descendre à droite jusqu’à l’entrée de Clémensat.
Step 4 : À l’intersection en T, prendre à gauche. À la suivante, descendre à droite. Au croisement suivant, continuer la descente à gauche (vue sur le puy de Lavelle). S’engager à droite sur une petite sente qui descend rapidement dans un ravin et rejoint la D26 à St Floret (croix en pierre). Traverser la route, tourner à droite jusqu’à une passerelle.
Next step
Step 5 : La franchir, bifurquer à gauche pour longer la Couze Pavin, traverser la D28, passer sur une écluse, poursuivre par un sentier puis un chemin. Poursuivre à droite jusqu’à la route. Prendre à gauche en direction de l’église, franchir le pont sur un bras de la Couze et en laissant les rues à droite, rejoindre le point de départ.

For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access
From Issoire, take the D996 towards Champeix. At Perrier, turn left onto the D26 for 4 km, then left again to reach St Vincent. Departure sign in the parking lot opposite the town hall.
