An undergrowth trail in the footsteps of the Druids and Phoenicians who, 2,500 years ago, erected the “Pierre aux Deux Yeux”, a granite skull symbolizing “Conscience”. Also worth seeing are royal milestones and small heritage sites (wash-house, etc.).
Step 1 : From the Groupe Scolaire de Chabreloche parking lot, take the road on the left. Cross the level crossing and continue on the opposite road. At the T-junction, turn right. After the first house, fork left to go through a tunnel and cross the freeway.
Step 2 : At the end of the tunnel, take the path leading up to the right. Continue until you reach the tarmac road, which you take on the left as far as the village of Montsude. In the village, take the first asphalt road downhill to the right. At the crossroads, turn right behind a pond towards Lachaix.
Step 3 : At the fork, go straight on. 30 m further on, at the second fork in the road, turn left onto a track leading up into the forest. At the crossroads, fork left and continue uphill. Pass the ruins of an old fortified house (La Tour). Continue straight on for a good kilometer. At the next crossroads, turn right to join the road. Turn left through the hamlet of Les Vernières. Take the first right to reach the hamlet of Boulay. From the hamlet, take the left-hand track to the road, which turns left to the Col des Sagnes.
Step 4 : At the pass, fork left onto a small road, follow it for 50 m, then turn right onto a forest track. At the top of this track, at the T junction (off PR, you can go up to Roc du Guet 600 m after point 6), continue straight ahead to the hamlet of Issards.
Step 5 : In the hamlet, turn left onto an undergrowth track and follow it for a kilometer. At a T-junction, turn right to reach a tarmac road. Turn left to go through the tunnel under the freeway. At the tunnel exit, continue along the road to the left. Then turn right onto the first asphalt road to reach the parking lot.
