Logis Abbatial du Moutier

Thiers

Remains of a Benedictine abbey founded around the year 1000, the buildings have seen many vicissitudes. A flood on the Durolle destroyed the conventional buildings in 1701. However, the logis is a fine fortified building with two towers.

Fortified dwelling dating from the 11th – 18th centuries. Abbey “daughter of Cluny”. Beautiful 18th-century decor and furnishings. Classical walled garden. Member of the federation of Cluniac sites and the historic route of Auvergne castles.
