Step 1 : Start from Place de l’Eglise in Brousse. Take the path to the right of the phone booth. Go straight on to Moulin de Chabannes, then right to Logerie. At the next crossroads, turn right. 200 m before the D996, turn right along a small fir-tree wood (view of Brousse, the Chaîne des Puys and the Sancy massif) (off-road path to the right towards the Ailloux waterfall) before reaching L’Osmeau.

Step 2 : As you leave L’Osmeau, take the first path on the right ; it passes a house before running alongside plantations. At the corner of one of these, turn right down into the forest. Cross the footbridge over the Ailloux, then go left again. Cross the D253 at the Pradeaux sawmill and take the grassy path. Climb left to reach the D58 (view of the Chaîne des Puys and the Sancy massif). Follow it to the right as far as Montboissier.

Step 3 : In Montboissier, turn right towards the church. In the square, turn left at the fountain, then left again. At the ruined château de la Praderie, turn left onto the wall-lined path that leads up past the stream. Turn right onto the D263 for 700 m. Leave it at a bend and continue along a good track to the left, under a grove of trees. Turn right opposite a meadow (view of the Chaîne des Puys and the Sancy massif).

Step 4 : At the hamlet of Fauchal, turn left down the D263, then right along a track passing a house. At the road, turn right for 50 m and take the path on the left. At the crossroads of 3 tracks, turn right and continue straight ahead until you reach the road (with views of the Chaîne des Puys and the Sancy massif). Take this road in the direction of Espinassier. At the entrance to the village, take the track opposite and continue as far as Jalennes.
