This signposted trail climbs near Vollore-Ville, then heads towards the hamlet of Chossière before climbing up to the hamlets of La Chaize Basse and La Chaize Haute. The path then becomes more stony, joining the ancient Roman road that runs through the undergrowth of the Grun de Chignore, a vast granite scree. We follow this track as far as Montbartoux, then continue without technical difficulty to the hamlet of Fergevielle. The return journey, mainly downhill, is more technical, with stony paths and tracks, sometimes marked by deep ruts caused by heavy thunderstorms.
