This trail crosses the Grun de Chignore massif, with its beech forests and granite rocks. It begins with wide tracks, passing beneath the imposing château of Vollore-Ville. A long climb in several sections then leads to the commune of St-Agathe, passing through its hamlets, before reaching the crests of the area near the Col du Frissonnet (702m). After an ascent of the puy d’Oscot, we reach the highest point of the route (972m), before descending again with a magnificent descent down the mountainside, including a passage over the chaotic cobblestones of the Roman road. The return to the Quatre Vents nature center is easy, with a panoramic view of the château de Vollore-Ville. This tour requires excellent physical condition and a good technical background to cope with the pitfalls of the beech forest and the technical difficulties of the descent.
