Route description

From the Blot l’Église stadium, discover the streams and ponds of the Combrailles and a panoramic view towards the Puys mountain range.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

Step 1 : Leave it and go straight ahead. At the T-junction, turn right. Ignore 2 left-hand paths, go alongside a pond and, 100 m further on, turn right. Ignore the left-hand paths and continue to a road.

Step 2 : Cross the road and continue straight ahead (view of the Chaîne des Puys). Ignore the right-hand track and turn right at the fork. At the first houses in Péry, follow the road to the right for 20 m, then turn left onto the track. At the crossroads, take the track on the right and continue, leaving the tracks on the left, until you reach the road at the entrance to Périssel (cross on the right).

Step 3 : Turn left for 50 m, then fork left onto the track. Go down the second track on the right to reach a road. Follow the road to the left for 30 m, then turn right (barrier) onto a wide forest lane. Continue straight ahead until you reach another barrier and the path you took at point 1. Turn left and follow this path back to the starting point.

For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on the weather conditions, some routes are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked paths. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your rubbish.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access

Å Blot-l’Eglise, 50 km north of Clermont-Ferrand, follow the D122 to the stadium. There is a car park. Start sign opposite the roadside stadium.
