Situated at the confluence of the Jauron and Allier rivers, Beauregard-l’Évêque has been the summer residence of bishops since the 12th century. Guillaume Duprat established the Minimes convent here, and Jean-Baptiste Massillon drew up the town plan. Over the centuries, the château became
residence for bishops. Take a stroll through the streets, visit the church of Saint-Étienne and end your visit with a look at the town’s winegrowing past in a private cellar. A tasting of AOC Côtes d’Auvergne wines, accompanied by Auvergne charcuterie and cheeses, concludes the visit in a convivial atmosphere.
