Saint-Myon Church

Saint-Myon

This church has characteristic elements of the Romaneque Auvergnate period, it’s chapel is made up of 3 radiant chapels. Inside, the choir is surrounded by a corridor called an ambulatory which is rarely found in the Combrailles.

A string of billets (rectangular-shaped decoration) runs above the bays. Numerous sculpted modillions under the roof complete the exterior decoration of this chevet. All the pillars in the ambulatory have sculpted capitals, including one depicting avarice and another minotaurs.
