Gardens of the Castle Dauphin

Pontgibaud

Guide MichelinGuide Le Routard

The château-fort and its six towers, remains of the 12th-15th century walls, overlook a rare sunken kitchen garden (listed as a World Heritage site), created in the 16th century, and a landscaped garden at the foot of lava flows. The outbuildings (listed building) house the silver mining museum.

The garden ticket price includes a free tour of the kitchen garden described by Montaigne, the landscaped gardens and the Chevalier tower, which gives you an overview of the estate. You can also walk around the battlements that mark the boundaries of the park and woodland, and visit the outbuildings(…)
