For many years now, local residents have been working hard to preserve and showcase these gardens : the terraces have been laid out as multi-species gardens. At the top of Marchidial, from the terraces and perched gardens of the former Château du Marchidial (free admission ; pedestrian access from the town center), you’ll enjoy a fine view of the town stretching along the Couze Chambon.
On the other side of the road, take a look at the garden of the Sisters of St. Joseph. It has all the hallmarks of a congregational garden. Enclosed by high walls containing a circular pool and dovecotes, this haven of peace offers a breathtaking view of the Marchidial.
