Like many megaliths, this is a fine example of a “pagan” monument and cult reclaimed by the church. A small stone altar still stands at its foot. On this altar, “other” relics were placed during a procession (now forgotten) that took place on the Sunday following the feast of Saint Roch.

Access : follow the GR30® Tour des Lacs d’Auvergne hiking trail from Saint-Nectaire. The monolith is located at the next junction, in the direction of Sapchat.
