In 1993, volunteers from the Le Grand Vert association discovered a mill in ruins, but with all its original parts still inside. They set about renovating the building acquired by the commune a few years earlier.
For 6 years, every Saturday morning, the volunteers worked to restore the mill to its former glory. On November 20, 1999, at 12 :08pm, the first walnut oil poured from the press after 32 years of slumber.
The mill store opens its doors on Friday and Saturday mornings, allowing visitors to watch the oil being made if they bring their own walnut kernels, or simply to admire the mechanisms powered by water alone.
