Located a stone’s throw from the Jardin Lecoq and the Henri-Lecoq Museum, the Bargoin Museum traces the history of the Auvergne region from prehistory to the Gallo-Roman period.

Closed to the public for renovation work since 1 August 2026, the museum continues to share its heritage through a range of ‘off-site’ cultural activities :
• Workshops and educational sessions : Visit the premises of the former Lafayette Library (1 Boulevard Lafayette, Clermont-Ferrand), situated right next to the museum, to take part in activities and events.
• Off-site collections : Discover a selection of items from the collection on display at the Maison Archéologique des Combrailles (Voingt) and at the Roger-Quilliot Art Museum (MARQ) in Clermont-Ferrand as part of the exhibition ‘Treasures of Prehistory in Auvergne’ (until 20 September 2026).
