Below the Signal du Luguet, you will discover one of the most beautiful glacial valleys in the Massif Central: the Artoux circus. Crossed by the Artoux stream, the meadows, hedges and forests form a typical landscape of the Cézallier.
In the heart of this glacial valley, overlooked by the 3 highest peaks of the Cézallier (Signal du Luguet, Pépendille, Mont Peche), there are still “moraines” on the sides (piles of rocky debris). They were formed 20,000 years ago, as a result of the accumulation of snow, which transformed into a glacier and eroded the volcanic rock.
