Mineral water, a treasure to be discovered

The mineral springs of the Puy-de-Dôme are the result of centuries of natural filtering through volcanic rock, giving them unique properties that are beneficial to health. These waters sometimes gush out into the wild, offering hikers authentic experiences in the heart of unspoilt volcanic landscapes, and are also bottled to be enjoyed everywhere. Discovering these volcanic waters is an unmissable experience immersed in nature.

Bottled mineral waters

Volvic, one of the region's most famous mineral waters, has a unique minerality thanks to its underground journey through six volcanic layers. This water is naturally pure and protects its minerality without any chemical treatment. It is born from the ecosystem of the volcanoes.

Volcanic mineral waters from the Puy-de-Dôme are also available in bottles. The famous Volvic comes from aquifers filtered by volcanic rock, guaranteeing purity and balanced mineralisation. The Volvic factory offers a tour of the local geology, the water cycle and the bottling process.

Other famous waters, such as Sainte-Marguerite, Hydroxydase (available in pharmacies) or the prestigious Chateldon, a favourite of Louis XIV, as well as Ardezy and the water from Mont-Dore, bear witness to the geological and mineral wealth of the region.

The Puy-de-Dôme, a region shaped by volcanoes dating back thousands of years, is rich in unique natural springs. The water gushes directly from the depths, filtered by the porous volcanic rocks, which give it a wealth of minerals and trace elements. Sites such as the Source de Bard in the Vallée des Saints at Boudes, the Source Sainte-Anne in the Vallée de Chaudefour and the Fontaine Salée, which are ferruginous and slightly pungent, can be discovered on walks through spectacular scenery.

These mineral springs, scattered all over the region, are a constant source of curiosity.
