FAQ: Paragliding first flights :
1) Are you afraid of heights?
Rest assured, you can’t get vertigo when paragliding, because you’re not connected to the ground. It’s an astonishingly gentle sensation, as you see the landscape a little like in a photograph. As with flying, you may be a little scared at first, but there’s no sensation of vertigo.
2) Is paragliding a physical sport?
No, paragliding is still a physical activity, but you’ll only have to take a few steps to get airborne.
3) How does paragliding take off?
First of all, our instructor will explain the take-off instructions at the summit of the Puy de Dôme: all you have to do is walk and don’t stop. Then the glider starts to carry you gently into the air. You’ll never feel like you’re jumping or falling!
4) And in the air under the paraglider?
Once you’re up in the air under the paraglider, all you have to do is sit back in your harness and let it carry you! In the air, you’ll be sitting a bit like on a swing with a backrest.
Once you’re comfortable, enjoy your flight, and if you like, we can even let you fly for a while!
5) What about airsickness?
In paragliding, very few people get airsick! (around 5%).
These are people who are also very sensitive to seasickness or to the back of cars. In that case, take an open-air flight – no one gets sick for 20 minutes.
6) And the landing?
You land gently on the landing area, standing up and passing over the reception chalet.
7) Why paragliding in Puy de Dôme?
