This easy cycle tour takes you between the Val d’Allier and the Livradois, through a region steeped in history and with fertile plains. This tour will reveal an unsuspected heritage of churches, castles and pretty villages.

The first monument in sight is the Château de Parentignat, built in the early 18th century. The rest of the itinerary takes you to the village of Nonette, which has been awarded the “Petite Cité de Caractère” label. Built on a volcanic mound, it offers superb panoramic views of the surrounding area. The loop then takes you to the foothills of the Livradois to discover charming villages and churches such as Bansat and Mailhat. A final descent brings you back to the starting point. The route offers views of the Sancy massif, the Allier valley and the Livradois mountains. You’ll also catch a glimpse of the volcano and the villages of Usson (labelled Plus Beaux Villages de France) and Le Broc (labelled Petite Cité de Caractère).
