Leaving Ardes, you leave the Lembron behind and begin a climb that takes you to the volcanic Cézallier plateau. From here, you’ll be able to take in a host of sublime landscapes : the Allier valley, the Sancy, the Chaîne des Puys, the Livradois Forez and even the Cantal. The roads are sparsely traveled, the air is pure and calm reigns. At the end of the loop, you’ll descend into the Lembron region, which boasts numerous fortified sites and vineyards with the AOC Côtes d’Auvergne label. This charming area borders the Val d’Allier and the Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d’Auvergne.
