In 1985, Marcel Sahut bequeathed some of his work. Hundreds of prints, drawings and paintings now make up the Sahut Museum’s collection, including works by Rousseau, Ravier, Emile Bernard and Daumier.
Since 2022, the museum has been enriched by a new section devoted to the arts of stone, and more particularly to the technique of enameling on lava.

For 2025, two temporary exhibitions and a new hanging are proposed.

Temporary exhibition “Les Jaffeux, a family of artists”.
Inspired by Francisque Jaffeux (1866 -1942), a talented amateur watercolorist, the Jaffeux family’s passion for the arts and creativity has been passed down through the generations. From Charles (painter and aquafortist), Francisque’s son, to Pierre (photographer) and Jean (lava enameller), Francisque’s grandson, this exhibition presents three artistic paths born within the same family.

Temporary exhibition “Contrasts
One is born of water, the other of fire. One is light, the other dark. One comes from elsewhere, the other from here…
Okinawan stone and Volvic stone, two very different materials, meet in the work of sculptor Yukichi Inoué. For the first time, the two periods of his work are brought together in a single exhibition, where contrasts are revealed.

New exhibition from July 4 “De Mortelèque à Michelin, histoire du premier siècle de l’émaillage sur lave” (From Mortelèque to Michelin, the story of the first century of lava enameling)
As part of a redevelopment project aimed at doubling the surface area of one room, the Sahut Museum is hosting a new exhibition devoted to one of its major themes : enameling on lava.
The new display retraces the first hundred years of this technique, at the crossroads of fine art, architecture and industrial innovation, from the first known work, produced in 1827 by Mortelèque, to the approval of Michelin road signs in 1931.
