Saint-Floret

Huddled against the rock, the village is protected by the keep of a fortified castle. Don’t miss the hall of frescoes in the castle and the medieval necropolis around the church. At the foot of the keep, winemakers’ houses are reached via medieval alleyways. Overlooking the village is Le Chastel, a unique archaeological location with a Romanesque church.

There are still important remains of the feudal complex that defends the village of Saint-Floret. The lower castle preserves magnificent 14th century frescos. It is the only French representation of a version of Tristan’s novel
