The puy Saint-Romain is interesting for its geological structure, which combines a peripatetic edifice with a basaltic flow, but it’s also a must-see lookout point.
From its summit, the view extends over a large part of the region:
– to the east, the Comté volcanoes, the Livradois mountains and the Forez ridges,
– to the south, the Cézallier plateau and the Cantal mountains,
– to the south-west, the Sancy massif,
– to the west, the Chaîne des Puys,
– to the north, the alluvial plain of the Allier and the Clermont Ferrand and Cournon sites.
A signposted circuit for mountain bikes allows you to discover the winegrowing architecture at the same time.
