The Puy d’Aubière offers 98 hectares of lush greenery and rich flora and fauna, at an altitude of 466 metres. In fact, no fewer than 229 botanical species, including various types of orchid. 158 species of small fauna cohabit this vast green expanse.
In addition to this highly developed biodiversity, the site also bears the remains of the winegrowing activity that took place on the slopes until the 19th century.
At the foot of the puy, in the cellar district, wine barrels were used to store the winegrowers’ tools, and the old cellars preserved wine and cheese.
The cellars are home to 11 species of bat, which are regularly recorded.
