Right from the start of this loop, you’re greeted by a rich heritage. The Château de Parentignat, built in the early 18th century, is the first monument on the route. But it’s not the only castle you’ll see. There are many sites to see along the route or slightly beyond. The route is also marked by the influence of the Cluniac monastery of Sauxillanges, notably at Saint-Rémy de Chargnat, where the priory had possessions. Finally, the emblematic village of Usson, visible at every point on the loop, punctuates the itinerary. From this volcanic hilltop, you’ll be able to take in many splendid landscapes…
