Starting from Pérignat-lès-Sarliève (with access also available from Romagnat), the off-road version of the ‘Le plateau de Gergovie’ circuit offers a demanding yet rewarding ride. Alternating between woodland tracks, vineyard paths and open plateau crossings, this route offers a good mix of physical challenge and escape in the heart of a region steeped in history.

Highlights of the mountain bike route :
• The ascent to the Gergovie Plateau : Use your leg strength to reach the famous Gallic oppidum and enjoy a panoramic view of the Chaîne des Puys (UNESCO), the Sancy massif and the Limagne.
• Variety of terrain : Pebbly tracks, dirt paths on the edge of woods and fast, grassy plateaus.
• Geological and rural points of interest : Passing close to the Puy de Mardoux and crossing historic hillsides shaped by wine-growing
