Departing from the Tourist Office, you’re invited to take a ride through the exceptional landscapes of the Puy-de-Dôme, with beautiful panoramic views of : the Grosliers, the Puy de Montaury, the Forez and the Chaîne des Puys, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The wine-making village of Saint-Bonnet-près-Riom :
Your route then takes you to the heart of the charming winegrowing village of Saint-Bonnet-près-Riom, where you’ll discover : typical winegrowers’ houses, the village church and the old mill.
As soon as you leave the village, you enter the Madargue vineyard, where vines have been cultivated since the 5th century, a real immersion in the history of the Auvergne terroir.
Chapelle Saint-Don and Château de Tournoël :
You continue your exploration by passing by the Chapelle Saint-Don, then admiring the spectacular view of the Château de Tournoël, a historic site marking the landscape.
The Thermal Express :
The route then takes you to the former railroad line linking Riom to Châtel-Guyon, now rehabilitated as a soft path under the name of the Thermal Express. This pleasant, peaceful path lets you discover the beauty of the region at your own pace.
