Route description

This tour will appeal to heritage lovers. Saint-Saturnin is a remarkable village – labeled a Petite Cité de Caractère® – built of blonde stone, giving it a southern atmosphere.

Trail highlights

– Randol: Notre-Dame de Randol abbey is a monastery of Benedictine monks from the Solesmes congregation, located six hundred meters from the village of Randol.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step :

Étape 1 : From the start sign, take rue des Farges, then rue de la Boucherie, in the direction of the church (gates of ancient fortifications, Renaissance dwelling). Turn right at Place de l’Eglise Romane (another yellow hiking trail ahead). Near the château, place de l’Ormeau (Renaissance fountain and château), turn right onto rue de la Chantelle and join a road. Follow this to the left until you reach a crossroads. Fork left on Chemin du Bec to reach a road.

Étape 2 : Cross the road and take the D28À road opposite, in the direction of N.D de Randol, then a left-hand track to a road. Follow this to the left until you reach the parking lot before the abbey. Cross the parking lot. Turn left at the fork, then right at the next fork, until you reach a crossroads. Take the carriage road on the right. (view of Saint-Sandoux and Saint-Saturnin). Cross a stepladder and descend to a crossroads.

Étape 3 : Take the track on the left, cross a stepladder and cross a meadow. Continue right along a path, passing two gates. Continue along the track. At the crossroads, go straight down to a crossroads.

Étape 4 : Turn right, ignoring the adjacent paths on the right. At the fork, turn left and follow the clearing to the left until you reach a road. Follow this road to the right for 100 m. At a crossroads, cross the road and turn left onto a driveway. Continue to a crossroads, then turn right. Follow the Vocan estate to the left. At the fork in the road, turn right at a cross. Cross the road and follow the path, keeping to the left. At the entrance to the village, after crossing the bridge, turn right into Rue des Granges to get back to the starting point.
