Starting from the L’Escapad’ center in Saint-Genès-Champanelle, this 10.4-km hiking trail invites you to explore the unspoiled Charade area. It harmoniously combines a discovery of the local rural heritage with sweeping views of the rolling hills of the Clermont-Ferrand metropolitan area.

Highlights of the route :
• Thèdes’ Tomb : Discover this unique funerary monument nestled in the woods, where Benoît Gonod, an illustrious 19th-century professor from Clermont-Ferrand, is buried.
• Remarkable panoramic views : Enjoy spectacular vantage points overlooking the Puy de Dôme, the surrounding volcanic plateau, and the rugged Artière Gorges.
• Heritage of the hamlets : Pass through the villages of Manson and Berzet to explore their washhouses, chapels, crosses, and covered fountains made of lava stone.
