Starting from L’Escapad in Saint-Genès-Champanelle, this easy hike circles the Puy de Manson. It’s an idyllic loop offering magnificent panoramic views of the Chaîne des Puys (UNESCO), the Puy de Dôme, and the hilltop village of Manson.

Step 1 : Arrivé à la route prendre à droite sur 300 mètres puis bifurquer sur le chemin à gauche après la carrière à chevaux. A l’embranchement prenez à droite et continuer sur le sentier principale jusqu’à « Manson ».

Step 2 : Prendre à gauche « Le chemin des Sagnes »et au niveau du lavoir, prendre à gauche direction « Laschamps ».

Step 3 : En haut de la montée prendre à droite. A la route prendre à gauche sur 20 mètres et tourner dans le 1er chemin à droite. (possibilité de faire un aller-retour d’1,5km pour voir la Chapelle St Aubin).

Step 4 : Au bout du chemin, prendre à droite puis tout droit.

Step 5 : Arrivé au petit poteau avec le point jaune, prendre à droite. Continuer sur le même chemin (ronds jaunes).

Step 6 : Arrivé sur le goudron suivre les ronds jaunes. En bas de la route, tourner à gauche en suivant les ronds jaunes. Puis à la fontaine prendre tout droit.

Step 7 : En bas de la route prendre la direction de « Thedes/St Genès Champanelle ».

Step 8 : Au poteau directionnel suivre la direction de « Chatrat/St Genès Champanelle « (chemin des Sagnes). Puis tourner à droite en suivant les ronds jaune.

Step 9 : Arrivé à la route, tourner à droite. Longer la route puis prendre à gauche au poteau directionnel direction « St Genès Champanelle ».

Step 10 : Après avoir passé le cimetière, tourner à gauche, traverser et prendre direction « Berzet ». De suite, prendre le portillon métallique pour rentrer dans la zone de pique-nique. Vous pouvez visiter la zone humide. Sinon, prenez le chemin qui monte pour retourner à L’Escapad’.

Road access to L’Escapad’ – 1 chemin du Château – 63122 Saint-Genès-Champanelle Le Bourg.
From Clermont-Ferrand, take the N89 via Beaumont, Ceyrat, Saulzet-Le-Chaud then Theix.
Continue on the D90 to Saint-Genès-Champanelle Le Bourg or via Royat, Charade, Manson then Thèdes (D90).
