The Côtes de Clermont – Chanturgue site includes the puy de Chanturgue, the puy de Var and the site’s south-eastern slopes.

An emblem of the Clermont landscape, the town’s urban planning regulations protect it from rampant urbanization. From up there, you can overlook the city… The site has long attracted human activity. Archaeological remains have been found here since excavations in 1950, including the remains of a Gallic oppidum, a Gallo-Roman temple and a villa. The site is also marked by agricultural activity, which was important in the 19th century, particularly through winegrowing.

Access: In Clermont-Fd, from boulevard Lavoisier, take rue de Blanzat for 50 m. Turn left onto rue des Chanelles. At the first roundabout, continue straight ahead on rue du Clos Perret. At the second roundabout, take rue du Creux rouge. Starting point at the junction with rue des Oiseaux (park nearby).
