Following the study carried out in 2020 on bathing sites in the Puy-de-Dôme department, and in order to respond to the expectations expressed by the regions in this area, the Puy-de-Dôme Departmental Service for Youth, Commitment and Sport has initiated a consultation process by setting up a working group specifically devoted to the subject of bathing.
It meets once or twice a year:
The quality of the welcome provided to users and tourists at bathing sites is a major issue for local authorities, at the crossroads of health, safety, environmental and tourist issues. Bathing sites play a key role in local appeal and therefore require coordinated management that anticipates and adapts to changes in use and the climate.
With this in mind, the aim of the working group is to create a network of the players involved in order to improve the coherence of actions, encourage the pooling of resources and share best practice. It also provides a forum for discussing the issues faced by the regions.
The group's work is currently organised around four key areas:
Guaranteeing health and safety: management, monitoring and coordination of stakeholders. The aim of this area is to support local authorities in managing bathing sites (bathing surveillance) in the face of health risks (cyanobacteria). Feedback from experience and season reviews are invaluable tools that provide ongoing input for the group's discussions,
Federate the network of partners: put managers in touch with resource people,
Sharing information, resources and skills,
Raising awareness of climate change: sharing the observations made in the regions, and engaging in joint reflection on the levers for action and possible ways of adapting for the future.
