Starting from the Espace Loisirs du Lac d’Aydat, mountain bike route No. 7 – La Cassière offers a refreshing ride through the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park. Running along the Cheire d’Aydat (a former basalt lava flow now covered in woodland), this route forms a very pleasant loop linking two of the area’s most iconic bodies of water.

Highlights of the mountain bike route :
• Lake La Cassière : Escape to the peaceful shores of this natural lake, fringed with vegetation – the perfect spot for a contemplative break during your ride.
• A journey through the Cheire d’Aydat : Cycle in the shade of tall trees on volcanic soil, offering a serene atmosphere that is particularly enjoyable in summer.
• A smooth and accessible route : A very manageable route comprising easy forest tracks, rolling dirt tracks and welcome flat sections.

Difficulty : Blue level – Moderate
Wearing a helmet is recommended. Please respect the protected natural areas around the lakes and stay on the marked trails.
