Route description

The GR® 300 crosses the Puy-de-Dôme from north to south over 138 km. The Chemin de Saint-Michel or GR® 300 is a hiking route that links Le Rocher de Saint Michel d’Aiguilhe (Le Puy-en-Velay) with Mont Saint Michel in Normandy.

The GR® 300 trail enters the Puy de Dôme at Brassac-les-Mines, historic supplier of coal to Parisians, and then leads to the volcanic promontory of the former wine-making village of Nonette.

Dogs allowed Dogs must be kept on a leash. Dogs are often present in the summer pastures. However, they are strictly forbidden in the Chaudefour Valley Nature Reserve.
