Route description

This tour will take you around the Puy de Manson, to the Chapelle Saint Aubin and the Chabanat spring, reputed to heal visitors’ eyes.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step :

Étape 1 : Arrive at the road and turn right for 300 m, then fork left after the horse quarry. At the fork in the road, turn right and continue along the main path to “Manson”.

Étape 2 : Take a left on “Le chemin des Sagnes” and, at the wash-house, turn left in the direction of “Laschamps”.

Étape 3 : At the top of the climb, turn right. At the road, turn left for 20 m and take the 1st path on the right (possibility of a 1.5 km round trip to see Chapelle St Aubin).

Étape 4 : At the end of the track, turn right, then straight on.

Étape 5 : Arrive at small post with yellow dot, turn right. Continue on the same path (yellow circles).

Étape 6 : Arrive on tarmac, follow yellow circles. At the bottom of the road, turn left following the yellow circles. Go straight on at the fountain.

Étape 7 : At the bottom of the road, follow signs for “Thedes/St Genès Champanelle”.

Étape 8 : At the signpost, follow signs for “Chatrat/St Genès Champanelle” (chemin des Sagnes). Then turn right, following the yellow circles.

Étape 9 : Arrive at the road and turn right. Follow the road, then turn left at the signpost for “St Genès Champanelle”.

Étape 10 : After passing the cemetery, turn left, cross the road and head for “Berzet”. Then take the metal gate into the picnic area. You can visit the wetland area. Alternatively, take the uphill path back to L’Escapad’.
