A family hike to the village of Laschamps, with a breathtaking view of the Puy de Dôme and the Sancy mountain range.
Step 1 : Arrive at the road, cross it and go straight up the small path. At the end of the lane, turn left and walk down to the church.
Step 2 : At the church, turn right towards “le Puy de Dôme”. At the fountain (drinking water point), follow the yellow circles and the uphill path.
Step 3 : At the end of the climb, take the path on the left. Continue straight ahead.
Step 4 : After the right-hand bend, climb 50 m and turn left to go alongside the fence in the meadow. At the end, take the left-hand path downhill, then go straight on.
Step 5 : Continue turning right. Go as far as the road, cross it and turn right towards “Laschamps” (signpost).
Step 6 : Turn right towards “Laschamps” (signpost).
Step 7 : Arrived at the parking lot, turn right along the road, then left into the Chemin de Busageix. Continue straight on.
Step 8 : 9-10-At the small signpost or at the intersection, continue straight on towards “St Genès Champanelle” or “St Genès Champanelle/L’Escapad'”.
Step 11 : Arrived in Chatrat, follow the yellow circles past the fountains. Continue along the descending road.
Step 12 : Arrived at the intersection, at the signpost, continue straight on towards “St Genès Champanelle/L’Escapad'”.
Step 13 : After the cemetery, turn left, cross the road and head for “Berzet”. Then take the metal gate into the picnic area. You can visit the wetland area. Alternatively, take the uphill path back to L’Escapad’.

Road access to L’Escapad’ – 1 chemin du Château – 63122 Saint-Genès-Champanelle Le Bourg.
From Clermont-Ferrand, take the N89 via Beaumont, Ceyrat, Saulzet-Le-Chaud then Theix.
Continue on the D90 to Saint-Genès-Champanelle Le Bourg or via Royat, Charade, Manson then Thèdes (D90).
