Starting from Place Ballofy in Blanzat (with an alternative starting point at Place Charles-de-Gaulle in Châteaugay), the ‘From the Bade Plateau to the Châteaugay Hillsides’ walk offers a wonderful immersion in the countryside and the world of wine. Winding through the wild plateaus of La Bade and Champ Griaud, this route showcases a region where the winemaking tradition has stood the test of time.

Highlights of the route :
• Wine-growing heritage : Walk through vineyards still in production and explore the fascinating wine cellar district in Châteaugay, a living testament to the history of Auvergne’s vineyards.
• Stunning panoramic views : Enjoy exceptional views over the Clermont-Ferrand metropolitan area, the Limagne plain and the Chaîne des Puys (UNESCO).

• Start / Finish : Place Ballofy (63112 Blanzat) — Head towards ‘Les Mauvaises’ / Alternative : Place du Général Charles-de-Gaulle (63112 Châteaugay)

The only difficulty worth noting is the initial climb from Blanzat up to the Plateau de la Bade. Make sure you wear suitable walking shoes and take water with you for the walk across the open plateaus.
